Ivy Baskets let you create and track simulated portfolios directly with Ivy—no brokerage connection required. Describe a theme, strategy, or group of assets you want to follow, or paste an existing portfolio. Ivy can build the basket and keep the relevant assets together so you can monitor the idea over time without losing the context behind why you created it.
Ivy Baskets are simulated portfolios used for research and monitoring. Creating a basket does not place trades in a brokerage account.

Creating a basket

You can create a basket by telling Ivy what you want to track. Include an investment amount, allocation preferences, or specific assets when relevant.
1

Open Ivy

Open the Ivy chat interface from your dashboard.
2

Describe your basket

Tell Ivy the theme, strategy, portfolio, or group of assets you want to follow.
3

Review the basket

Ivy will create the basket and display its holdings for you to review.
4

Open the portfolio view

Select the new basket from Ivy Baskets to see its holdings, performance, and creation timestamp.

Example request

Ivy, create a $1 million basket of leading semiconductor companies and track it for me.
You can also paste a list of holdings or an existing portfolio and ask Ivy to organize it into a basket.

Viewing a basket

Open any basket to see a full portfolio-style view of the idea.

Basket Performance

Monitor how the basket is performing over time.

Individual Assets

Review the performance and details of each holding in the basket.

Creation Details

See when the basket was created and preserve the context behind the idea.

Customizable View

Adjust the visible columns and customize the interface around the information you want to follow.

Managing baskets with Ivy

You can manage baskets manually from the Ivy Baskets page or ask Ivy to make changes conversationally. Ivy can help you:
  • Create multiple baskets for different themes or strategies
  • Build variations of an existing basket with adjusted holdings or allocations
  • Analyze the holdings and performance of a current basket
  • Compare ideas across multiple baskets
  • Delete baskets you no longer need

Example prompts

“Create a basket of large-cap cybersecurity companies.” “Build a more conservative version of my semiconductor basket.” “What are the largest positions in this basket?” “Which holdings have contributed most to its performance?” “Compare my AI infrastructure and cloud software baskets.” “Delete the baskets I created for last quarter.”

Researching a basket

Ivy can interact with Baskets in the same way it works with portfolios and watchlists. Ask questions about a basket’s holdings, exposure, concentration, or performance without switching between separate research tools.
Give each basket a clear theme or purpose. This makes it easier to compare ideas and ask Ivy targeted questions later.

Deleting a basket

To remove a basket, open it and select the delete option from its menu. You can also ask Ivy to delete a specific basket for you.
Deleting a basket removes it from your Ivy Baskets list. Confirm that you no longer need the basket before deleting it.
