# Run AI-Enhanced Market Scans to Discover Trade Setups

> Find trading opportunities using Podium Markets' AI-enhanced scan library, including Scalping, Gap & Go, Mean Reversion, and Inside Bar Volume Surge scans.

Market scans in Podium Markets automatically surface tickers that match specific technical and volume criteria, so you spend less time screening and more time analyzing. Each scan runs against live market data and is enhanced by Ivy's AI layer, which can add context — news catalysts, earnings proximity, sector momentum — to every result.

## Pre-built scans

Podium ships a library of pre-built scans tuned for common trading approaches. Each scan is ready to run without any configuration, though you can customize filters to narrow results to your preferred universe. Below is a preview of a few scans Ivy offers:

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Scalping" icon="gauge-high">
    The **Scalping** scan finds short-term momentum setups suitable for quick entries and exits, typically targeting moves measured in minutes to a few hours. It screens for tickers with strong intraday price velocity, elevated relative volume, and tight bid-ask spreads — characteristics that make a stock easier to enter and exit without significant slippage.

    **Best used when:** you are actively watching a live feed of names exhibiting momentum in the current session.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Gap & Go" icon="arrow-trend-up">
    The **Gap & Go** scan identifies stocks gapping up or down at the open with meaningful follow-through potential. It filters for pre-market or opening gaps beyond a configurable percentage threshold, cross-referenced against above-average pre-market volume and a confirmed catalyst (earnings, news, or significant filing). Stocks that gap on thin volume or without a catalyst are excluded to reduce noise.

    **Best used when:** you trade the first 30–90 minutes of the session and want to focus on names with genuine momentum behind the gap rather than overnight drift.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Mean Reversion" icon="arrows-left-right">
    The **Mean Reversion** scan locates overbought and oversold conditions where price is statistically extended and may snap back toward a historical average. Under the hood it evaluates RSI extremes, Bollinger Band positioning, and distance from key moving averages to flag names that have moved far from equilibrium — in either direction — creating potential fade or recovery setups.

    **Best used when:** the broader market is range-bound and trending strategies are underperforming, or when you specifically trade counter-trend setups.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Inside Bar Volume Surge" icon="chart-bar">
    The **Inside Bar Volume Surge** scan flags inside bars — candlesticks whose high and low are fully contained within the prior bar — that are accompanied by above-average volume. This combination signals a compression of price action against a backdrop of increasing participation, which is a classic precursor to a breakout in either direction. The scan highlights these setups so you can watch for the subsequent range expansion.

    **Best used when:** you trade breakout setups and want to get ahead of a move by identifying coiling price action before the break occurs.

## Running a scan

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Scans panel">
    Click the **Scans** module in the left or right navigation sidebars. The panel displays the full scan library.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select a scan">
    Click on the scan you want to see — for example, **Gap & Go**. Podium surfaces the scan immediately and populates a results table.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the results">
    The results table lists each flagged ticker with key metrics: price, percentage change, relative volume, and the specific criteria that triggered the scan. Review the list and sort by any column to prioritize names.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  After a scan surfaces an interesting ticker, open the Ivy chat panel and ask for deeper context — for example, *"Why is SOFI gapping up today?"* or *"Is there an upcoming catalyst for this name?"* Combining scan discovery with Ivy's research layer gives you a much fuller picture before you decide to act on a setup.
